Local MP Graham Evans has a petition on his own website HERE
There are various petitions at No.10′s website concerning windfarms. HERE and here are the main ones
Wind Farm Setback Distances
Yet again, concerned rural residents have raised a petition on the No. 10Website for a 2km separation distance between large commercial turbines and housing, as recommended in Scottish Planning guidance SPP6 (see below).
The petition states:
‘We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Bring English law in line to that in Scotland for a minimum distance of 2kms between wind farms and places of habitation.’
Inefficiency of On Shore Windfarms to other forms of Renewable Energy
The petition states:
It is a proven fact that on shore Wind Farms are one of the most inefficient methods of generating renewable energy. The vast majority of on shore wind farms are situated in areas of beauty yet contribute little to the targets set by Government. They receive significant subsidies although their contribution is small I would ask the Government to 1.seek alternative methods of renewable enery such as off shore windfarms, tidal power, biomass which are proven to be far more efficient 2 Stop subsidies to on shore wind farms that are less than 30% effiecient and with the savings increase funding grants to house holders that wish to intall zero carbon systems 3 Allow Local Planning Authorities to determine applications for on shore wind farms on efficiency, noise and other factors that are detrimental to local residents.
